Bi-Aspheric Design
The Asphero-FB is a simultaneous-vision multifocal design
that combines a low-
eccentricity base curve with a
low-eccentricity front surface.
This design provides progressive add power from the center of
the lens to the periphery, offering a valuable alternative to the fitting
challenges that can arise with concentric, tangential and crescent-segmented
translating designs.
While this lens requires absolute centration to produce the
simultaneous-vision effect, it produces good intermediate acuity. As a result,
this lens is often preferred by patients whose professions or lifestyles cause
them to spend time reading computer screens.
