Back Surface Aspheric Design
The Asphero-B is a simultaneous-vision multifocal design that
combines a spherical front
surface
with a low-eccentricity aspheric base curve.
This design provides progressive add power from the center of
the lens to the periphery, offering a valuable alternative to the fitting
challenges that can arise with concentric, tangential and crescent-segmented
translating designs.
While this lens requires absolute centration to produce the
simultaneous-vision effect, it produces good intermediate acuity.
As a result, this lens is often preferred by patients whose professions
or lifestyles cause them to spend time reading computer screens.
Fitting success is also enhanced due to the comfort that is
afforded by the Asphero-B's aspheric base curve.
